The Department of Events & Conventions Management prepares students for the business and operations of planning events of all kinds including non-profit, conventions, meetings, expositions, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, and more. Additionally, students learn about the operations and management of diverse assembly facilities such as stadiums, arenas, performing arts centers, athletic venues, convention centers, ballrooms, and more. Emphasis is placed on operations and customer service quality, major components in the Hospitality industry.
Students are given a comprehensive background in accounting, human resources, organizational behavior, technology, and marketing, while learning about lodging, tourism, food and beverage, service quality, facility operations, special event coordination, non-profit events, convention coordination, and more.
